I apologize about my lack of updates. I’ve been enjoying some time with my mom here in San Francisco, then took a mini vacation back to Ohio to see the rest of the family.
Of course, I had a great time and it was bittersweet to return to the other side of the continent.
Aside from the $91.00 parking fee at SFO, I was also greeted with a spiffy legendary copy of Halo 3. No, I don’t really play the game all that well; but it came with a very awesome Master Chief Helmet, previously thought to be cat-sized. While we have large cats, this helmet is no where near their size.
I was also greeted with My Sims for the Wii and I couldn’t be more excited. I had the opportunity to play this while still in the works over at EA and I can only say that it’s more fun than I had hoped. I love games like Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon and My Sims just gave me the ability to play the same way as the others, only with building blocks. Being a massive fan of Legos as well, this game is just my cup of tea. Oh, and did I mention that it’s adorable? Well it really, really is.
More news later, for now here are a few pictures. One of the non-cat-sized helmet and the others taken while flying.

Come on, let’s dance.
So very full.
I realize that it’s been awhile since I posted, so I’ll make a quick post before I head back to Ohio for a few days.
My mom came to visit this week. Have I taken her to the Golden Gate Bridge? Nope. How about Alcatraz? Nope. The Warf? Coit Tower? Insert random city attraction? Nope, nope nope. Well what have we been doing then?
Eating. Lots and lots of eating. Rainbow Pizza, Shabuway, Kabul, Buckhorn. There are just too many great places to eat. I also drug her to a surprise party that was awesome.
I’ll leave you with a picture of the cake I made for it.

It’s Thursday again…
Which means I’ve got another article up over at Spwug.

D&D Saturdays
On most Saturdays we head over to Dom’s place to play some Dungeons and Dragons (v3.5 by the way). Dom is running our campaign and doing a really fantastic job (though he should make me say O.O.C. every time I open my mouth).
Our party consists of:
Albert the Gnome Illusionist
Myself the Elf Swashbuckler
Cliff the Human Rogue
Ian the Hafling Scout
Matt the Raptoran Ranger
I think we were suppose to be escorting the new king to school yesterday. I assume we did cause then we had to go kick the butts of the guys that blockaded themselves in the school with the librarian elf hostage and barrels of spears. Some illusions occurred, as well as some stabbing, a lot of missing, and a lot of beef jerky eating. Then we went and beat up some people on a boat with fish on spears.
Here are some better quotes from the night (courtesy of Albert):
Me:”There’s a guy bleeding in the pantry! That’s SO unsanitary!”
Matt:”… The Elf, in the library, with the candlestick, and Professor Plum.”
Dom:”What do you need, besides a barrel of spears?! TWO barrels of spears!”
Cliff:”*Rolls 20* I have TOTALLY faked this guy out. *Rolls 5* I have TOTALLY missed!”
Dom:”Why are you always eating?! Me:I have a high metabolism! We’re at threat level orange! Dom:You’re at threat level JERKY, apparently!”
Dom:”Meanwhile, Matt… excuse me, let me call you by your proper name: RA, GOD OF THE SUN!”
Matt:”I would like to know about the birds, because I’m big and full of feathers.”
Dom:”It’s named like… “The Momma’s Boy,” I dunno. Me: Spelled “B-U-O-Y”?”
And now some pictures, because your brain doesn’t hurt enough.

Spwug
I’ve been asked to do a blurb over at Spwug every Thursday. The topic was up to me; but since comics and gamer girls are covered (and no one wants to hear my prattle on about food science or cost control) I decided to write about toys.
I know, you’re shocked.
Go check out their neato site and read up on what some really great comic artist and people are thinking.

Things that you never have when you need one.
A quarter for the parking meter.
A pencil to write down a phone number.
Aspirin for when you have a headache.
How come we never have the little things we need when we need them? I’ve made it my mission at conventions to remember all the little things that most people forget. Rubber bands, clips, sharpies, food? I’ve got them.
Why in the heck do I never have a camera on me when I want to take a picture the most then? Come to think of it, I always want to take a picture. It would stand to reason that I would just bring mine with me wherever I go. That’s was purses are for, right? To carry the loads of random things females carry around? Maybe I just need a smaller digital camera. Any suggestions?

Feeding the Addiction
Anyone that knows me in the least bit knows that I love toys and figures. In the last few years I’ve gotten more into games and anime, both of which boast impressive assortments of toys. Back in Ohio it was almost impossible to find an anime figure at the local toy store. I would have to wait to go to conventions to find any and then struggle with myself on rather said toy(s) would fit in my luggage on the way home. Being in a state where conventions are not only within driving distance; but also the locals know where to get figures, has greatly increased my cute girl with large weapon collection. For example, my collection contains four Kos-Mos figures simply because she is such an awesome character (that is regrettably attatched to a massively boring game). None the less, I still pre-order all the figures. I’m beginning to think though, that the latest Xenosaga game was made just to feed my addition by featuring Kos-Mos in mutiple outfits and then producing figures of them. *sigh* So pretty, I must have them.
